I'm considering putting my anciant cassette tapes onto MiniDisk We bought her a CD player for Christmas and lo and behold it has a MiniDisk unit incorpoated in it. So I've got to work out how to transfer from a tape player to the MiniDisk. CD to MiniDisk is catered for. There seems to be an auxiliary audio input for phono plugs and I think there are a couple of those USB inputs. Does anyone have any gen. on these. I've got them on the Pc as well, are they in/out or just one direction. I can never figure out those tiny symbols stamped in the metal. Actually Marg my cholesterol is usually 5 so that's OK.Your revelations about your sugar level buck me up no end. I thought I was unique because I don't get much encouragement. Just pained expressions, chins being stroked and tutting. I know I'm not the most steadfast dieter but I think the occasional treat should be enjoyed without that palaver. The practice nurse reproved Dorothy for going on and said I would probably benefit from ice-cream on my fruit rather than Carnation Cream. If you read my message to Roz you'll see I take Pycnogenol as well. I'm trying to find a place I can buy it with my card because the local health shop is cash only and it empties my wallet. A griddle is an excellent idea Brian. We have one we put on the gas hob and it fries sausages and bacon in their own fat and then fries the tastiest eggs you can ever imagine.I must add that the most it is used is once a week for obvious reasons. I also take one tablet of PYCNOGENOL every day Roz. This is an extract from pine bark and is reckoned to be a strong anti- oxidant more potent than vitamin C, the usual one. It is reputed to re-enforce your blood vessels. Being a diabetic I suffer retinopathy which is rupture of the blood vessels in the retina and if left untreated can cause blindness. I have already had laser treatment on one eye so anything which offers possible preventive effects seems a good bet for me. According to my doctor, high cholesterol levels are largely the result of inheritance. We have eaten a low fat diet for years but my husband has high cholesterol and I don't. There is a history of early stroke and heart disease in Wes' family but in my family strokes do not show up until people are in their 80's. Now that wasn't nice!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------~-> A business man met a beautiful girl and asked her to spend the night with him for $500. And she did. Before he left in the morning, he told her that he did not have any cash with him, but that he would have his secretary write a check and mail it to her, calling the payment "RENT FOR APARTMENT." On the way to the office, he regretted what he had done, realizing that the whole event was not worth the price. So he had his secretary send a check for $250 and enclosed a note: Dear Madam: Enclosed find a check in the amount of $250 for rent of your apartment. I am not sending the amount agreed upon because when I rented the apartment I was under the impression that: (1) it had never been occupied; (2) that there was plenty of heat; (3) that it was small enough to make me cozy and at home. Last night, however, I found out that it had been previously occupied, that there wasn't any heat, and that it was entirely too large. ------------------------------------------------------- Upon receipt of the note, the girl immediately returned the check for $250 with the following note: Dear Sir, First of all, I cannot understand how you expect a beautiful apartment to remain unoccupied indefinitely. As for the heat, there is plenty of it if you know how to turn it on. Regarding the space, the apartment is indeed of regular size, but if you don't have enough furniture to fill it, please don't blame the landlord. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
