Thank you all for your wonderful birthday greetings. I have had a very nice week-end, starting with dinner at my daughter's house last night, then they all came round for a bacon sarnie this morning. If I live to my next birthday, I will be the oldest surviving person on my dad's side for donkeys years, as his dad was 35 when he died, and his mother was 66 (my age) and his grandparents were 38 and 40. Hi George my late father in law used to take part in the Whit Week (Whitsuntide) procession we used to have in Manchester when all the churches walked from their outlying parishes to Albert Square in the city centre. He carried one of the poles supporting the big banner of his church and it was essential especially in a breeze that the guide rope bearers kept the lines taut. Unfortunately these bearers were usually flipperty-gibbet young women who were more interested in their gossip and waving to the crowds than supporting the banner so they became the object of some choice epithets from the men. Hi Marge and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! The picture Marge was so kind to send was taken two years ago at my parents 40th anniversary. They renewed their wedding vows and had one d--- big party. L-R in the picture is my nephew Carson, brother Art, Dad and Mom and then the short one of the family, me. It was taken in the back yard of my parents home in Milliken Colorado just at sun set. Well by for now. I'm trying to get control of the back yard in my own new home. Martha Texas
