    3. I-Worm/Klez.H removal instructions. The I-Worm/Klez.H virus is spreading in e-mails with one or two attachments. The first one is the actual virus, the second can be a randomly chosen file from infected computer. The virus exploits a security hole (IFRAME exploit), by which it can be activated on some systems just by previewing the infected message. This variant is equipped by a mechanism that give the virus ability to recode parts of itself after each run and unlike the older versions it doesn't contain any destructive payload. I-Worm/Klez removal instructions: 1.. If you have an infected computer plugged to a LAN, it have to unplug it first, and plug it again when all computers are cleaned. 2.. This virus can be removed only in the MS-DOS or Safe mode. 3.. Some files cannot be removed if the virus is found in an archive. You have to note the file name and then remove it later manually from the disc. For detection of the virus I-Worm/Klez.H you need update of AVG number 350 and for detection of Win32/Elkern you need update 351. Full details can be found at: www.grisoft.com/html/news/klezh.htm#klezh_removal Brian Staffordshire, UK List Admin www.lordbramhall.co.uk --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. Oh dear, and just when you sent me a nice birthday greeting, too! I don't see my reply as taking personal affront Jim - I see it as an acceptable response to your question, and also to the fact that I see your response as critical of the article I sent in. It's not a case of thinking you don't respect my opinion, although the use of the word "balderdash" in your reply was a bit - well, harsh I think! 3. Oh, dear, Marj. What's up? Don't stop Jim expressing his opinion. It's differences of opinion which make this list the success it is. That was the idea [your idea] when the list started you know. I agree with you about the communication side of things subject but I don't think it needs a psychologist to tell us. Talking over problems has helped me also but I don't feel it should be necessary for the D.T. to have to tell us. 3. I was just listening to a radio programme where an elderly woman was telling how she woke to the sound of breaking glass and the sight of a thug climbing through the window. She went on to say how much safer she felt after a lock was put on the window and for the life of me I can't imagine why, if the thug climbed in through the broken pane. I can assure everyone that since my break-in in Jenuary I have so many weapons around the house that any yob coming in here would certainly not leave sound in body. I would do all in my power to cripple him or her. Some of you are already aware that I used to work for the Prison Service and that is where I met my end, employably speaking that is, so I think I've met the worst. And that is why I've so little time for the authorities who concentrate so hard on improving life for the villains and don't give a damn for the victim. 3. Marj, I agree with you. I am grateful for all the friends I have made on the internet. I think I would have gone mad these past few months if I hadn't had all the friends writing to me and wishing me well. Also, being able to use the computer to find things on the web has kept me busy and my mind off all the problems. Some of you might know that I do a lot of transcribing for FreeBMD and FreeCens and if I didn't have the internet then I wouldn't have found out about them, and they have kept me busy too. So Marj, you carry on sending things to the list, I always read them. Cheers, Pam. > Well, Jim, it's nice to have your considered opinion. 3. Oh, dear, Marj. What's up? Don't stop Jim expressing his opinion. It's differences of opinion which make this list the success it is. That was the idea [your idea] when the list started you know. 3. There are very few rules to this list but one is please do not send or discuss virus messages because they escalate. The sensible thing to do, which should be obvious to anyone, is - If in doubt press delete.
