    3. Jim I think my camera is compact flash and when I got it, it had 2MB which was nowhere near enough even for visiting friends. I bought 32 MB as soon as I could and use it on the highest settings. I have taken 100 photographs, and found it a great bind downloading them all, but am now using the camera software for this and it is much faster. I am entirely satisfied with my camera, although it is probably obsolete now, after 18 months. I wish I could totally understand how to ZOOM - it must do something, I think, but I haven't spent enough time on the instruction book. 3. Prison reform is a hundred years past due. I'm kind of "an eye for an eye" type of person although I'm mostly opposed to the death penalty. Mainly because death is too easy a punishment...let the sob's suffer their fates at the hands of their own. Now, about competition in schools. There's two school's of thought (no pun intended) on this and the wisest choice would be somewhere in-between the two of them. Personally, I don't like the forced competition on the younger children. It makes them want to learn for all of the wrong reasons. Competition needs to come from within, not from peers, as this is detrimental to social relationships. If unreasonably high expectations are placed on children, this will set them up for failure. On the other hand there's the self fulfilling prophecy, if a child isn't expected to do well, they won't. Sue* ----- Original Message ----- > Sue I applaud you. 3. Excuse me please if I reprise this subject but I still haven't got all the information I need and I wondered if some of the Digi-Cam owners have any comments re Systems. I think there are three types : Compact flash, SmartMedia, and Memory stick. Has anyone bought one of these and through experience thought 'I wish I'd bought X system'? Is 8Mb of memory sufficient if you are away from home with no computer access? I usually use two or three 12 exposure films on holiday. I under stand you can get 22 [email protected] 1Mpxl in high resolution. What would it be at medium res? Do I really need 2 Mpxl for snapping (only 8 piccies) Or is it really best to have removable memory. I gather that Compact Flash is the cheapest memory and Memory stick the dearest. Does anyone know the calculation formula to determine the number of frames per Mpxl per Mb You see I now know what questions to ask and its easier to martial ones thoughts at the keyboard than in a shop.
