SAVE IT: Preservation of Documents, Photographs, Paper Memorabilia and Ephemera The search for information about family members inevitably leads to the accumulation of documents, photographs and paper memorabilia and ephemera. On Sunday, January 19th, 2003, the Jewish Genealogical Society of New York will present STANLEY BERGMAN, the head of preservation for YIVO (YIVO Institute for Jewish Research), who will demonstrate how to conserve these valuable papers and photographs. He will also answer questions from audience members. The meeting will start at 2 p. m. Meetings of the JGSNY, which are held at the Center for Jewish History, are open to the public. Admission for JGSNY members is free with the presentation of a membership card. Non-members will be charged a $3 admission fee. The Center for Jewish History is located at 15 West 16th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The Center's Genealogy Institute will be open at 12:30 for networking with other researchers and access to resource materials and computers. For more information, call the JGSNY at 212-294-8326.
