    3. Earlier this week, Jody Thompson mentioned Georgia Archives Week from October 5-11. This is a perfect time to learn how to dig into and use those original records at the brand-new Georgia Archives or your own state archives. The Regional In-depth Genealogical Studies Alliance (RIGSA) is presenting a one-week hands-on workshop from October 6-10 at the Georgia Archives facility. This workshop deals primarily with the records of Georgia and the records of other southern states held by the National Archives Southeast Region in Atlanta. If you aren't interested in southern research, DON'T STOP READING. This workshop teaches students how to locate records on a specific topic and then how to read, interpret, and analyze the records. These skills can be applied to records from Alaska to New York to Mississippi. For more information about the Georgia RIGSA workshop from October 5-11 and the National Archives Southwest Region RIGSA workshop in Fort Worth, Texas, from October 27-31, visit www.RIGSAlliance.org or send an e-mail to [email protected] Pamela Boyer Porter, CGRS, CGL Regional In-depth Genealogical Studies Alliance, Inc.
