It's time to really begin to get the ball rolling on this year's ListFest. As many of you know, we have an annual get-together of Darke Co. researchers in Greenville. This is your opportunity to actually get to know many of the people you have been talking to for many months. We all bring our research and compare notes, etc., eat quite an enjoyable luncheon and just generally have a great time! In the past, Susie Kendall has brought a large number of area research books from the Preble Co. Library where she is the Director. I hope that she will be able to do this again. We often have local authors attending (who hopefully have brought along a few books in case we would like to buy one) and usually members of the Darke County Genealogical Society are in attendence. Last year the Society brought some hard to find items to sell and as I understand, were most pleased with the results. If things work out as planned, we will also be having an award-winning digital photo restoration expert giving a short program. WHEN: Saturday, June 21st 2003 WHERE: Shawnee Prairie Preserve, St. Rt. 502, Greenville, OH WHAT: ListFest 2003 - e-mail list get-together and carry-in ADDITIONAL: Anyone with an interest in Darke County genealogy and history is invited. As in former years, we will be having a carry-in luncheon around noon BUT this year we will discuss having it catered in 2004 if we vote to continue next year. Tom has informed me that the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure will be returning to Greenville from Brookville on the same day as the ListFest. This COULD make lodging difficult so I would suggest if you will need a motel to think about making your reservations soon! ListFest List: We also have an e-mail list devoted to discussion and planning of the ListFest. If you would like to subscribe, send me a personal e-mail (to [email protected]) and I'll subscribe you.
