The all-day family history conference features lectures by well-known speakers. Genealogical vendors sell books, charts, software and other history-related products. Lecturers include: * Loretto Szucs of Lockport, IL and executive vice president at Ancestry.com, with talks on coroner's inquest records; ethnic origins; hidden sources; and court records * Juliana Smith of Hammond, IN, editor of the online Ancestry's Daily News, speaking on "When You Assume..." * Craig Pfannkuche, former president of the Chicago Genealogical Society, on using railroad personnel records and where to find them * Susan Kaufman Tavenner of the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, IN, on 1930 Census finding aids * a talk on the Newberry Library in Chicago * Betty L. Warren, IGS president, on "Getting Your Genealogical Research Started." The annual IGS meeting features an award presentation to deserving family historians for projects or service. Registration prior to March 28 is $16 per member for Indiana Genealogical Society members and $20 for non-members. All registration after March 28 and all walk-in registration is $25 per person. Registration includes your choice of two sessions in four time slots; handouts; and admission to the vendor area. Registration, networking and vendor browsing begins at 8 a.m. Central Standard Time. Lunch is on your own, and a list of local eateries will be sent with registration confirmation.
