I was there once upon a time, also...1,000+ emails. Something that helped me, I took the time to open and UNSUBSCRIBE myself from numerous spam emails that I never asked for but somehow was receiving. By taking a minute to start UNSUBSCRIBING from all that garbage, it really helped to cut down on what I was receiving. The only web sites I visit are genealogy and eBay, so apparently anywhere you go the advertisers can pick up your email address. I've also read that some of them can detect if you simply open their email and that encourages them to send you more. Therefore, if there is something in the subject line that is clearly not something I want AND I do not know the sender...I simply delete it without opening it. I think this has contributed to cutting back on my emails. Now I stay right at 300-400 with a lot less spam. I hope this helps.
