It is not too early to start preparing for the 23rd International Conference on Jewish Genealogy that takes place in Washington, DC, from July 20th to July 25th. At the Sunday, April 20th, 2003 meeting of the Jewish Genealogical Society of New York, Sheri Meisel, the President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Washington, and one of the conference Chairs, will present a preview of the Conference and explain how the program will assist with research in DC. The meeting will start at 2 p. m. The annual conferences are wonderful opportunities for genealogists to meet their counterparts from all parts of the world and consult with archivists, historians, genealogical experts and researchers on a formal and informal basis. Meetings of the JGSNY, which are held at the Center for Jewish History, are open to the public. Admission for JGSNY members is free with the presentation of a membership card. Non-members will be charged a $3 admission fee. The Center for Jewish History is located at 15 West 16th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues in Manhattan.
