On Tuesday, September 18, 2007, the Mount Vernon Genealogical Society (MVGS) will meet in room 112 of the Hollin Hall Senior Center in Alexandria, Virginia. The meeting will start at 1:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The meeting will feature a presentation entitled "Masonic Genealogy Information." The program will be presented by Mark Tabbert. Mark Tabbert serves as the Director of Collections at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial Association. His talk will focus on the genealogical information found within Masonic annual proceedings and minutes. He will also discuss the creation of a national database of every deceased Mason in the history of the United States dating back to the 1730s. The Hollin Hall Senior Center is located 4 miles south of Alexandria just off Fort Hunt Road at 1500 Shenandoah Road in Alexandria, Virginia. MVGS is a nonprofit organization and has over 260 members residing in Alexandria, Fort Belvoir, the counties of Fairfax, Prince William, Montgomery, and Prince Georges, as well as several states.
