The Angelina County Genealogical Society will meet for its regular monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2007, in the Community Meeting Room of Kurth Memorial Library, 706 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas. The program will be presented by David Gordon who has the hobbies of genealogy research and bird calls. Mr. Gordon has had some quite interesting life experiences. He is employed in the Angelina College Maintenance Department, took a genealogy class through Angelina College Community Services, and has served more than one tour overseas with the armed services. An executive board meeting will be held at the original 4:00 p.m. time in the small glassed-in meeting room off the Ora McMullen Genealogy Room prior to the regular society meeting at 5 p.m. All officers and standing committee chairmen are urged to attend. The nominating committee will present a slate of officers for 2008. New book prices and the possible purchase of a new copy machine will be discussed in executive session. Possible recommendations presented in the regular business meeting. Ellen Pyle, the society newsletter editor, plans to have the fall newsletter ready by the November Meeting.
