    3. The Angelina County Genealogical Society will meet for its regular monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007, in the Community Meeting Room of Kurth Memorial Library, 706 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas. The program will be presented by ACGS Newsletter Editor Ellen Pyle of Apple Springs on Family Postcards from the 1930's and 1940's. Society officers for 2008 will be elected during the business meeting. The proposed slate of officers are President, Bob Ham; Vice-President, Cindy McMullen; Secretary, Anita Crona; and Treasurer, June Moffett. Nominations will be accepted from the floor. An executive board meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the small glassed-in meeting room off the Ora McMullen Genealogy Room prior to the regular society meeting at 5 p.m. All officers and standing committee chairmen are urged to attend. Ellen Pyle has e-mailed the Fall issue of the society newsletter to those members with working e-mails. Paper copies of the newsletter will be available at the meeting. Ellen can be contacted directly through the Ben Pyle E-mail address on the ACGS Web Page. Society contact information is on the society's web page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txacgs including a list of society publications. The ACGS web page now has a direct e-mail address to the Ora McMullen Room at Kurth Memorial Library for brief research questions. Contact the society by mail at P. O. Box 150631, Lufkin, Texas 75915-0631. Leave a message in the Ora McMullen Genealogy Room at Kurth Memorial Library at 1-936-630-0563. The December meeting of the society will be at 6 p.m. Monday, December 17, at Lufkin Bar-B-Que on the corner of Chestnut and Timberland. The meal will be "Dutch Treat" ordered from the regular menu. Any arrangements for special diet items should be made in advance directly with the restaurant. Special society guests will be the new Kurth Memorial Librarian Susan Randleman and her spouse. A program topic has not been announced. Some late breaking, very sad and disturbing news was received as Ellen was e-mailing the newsletter. The Nacogdoches Genealogy Society is disbanding. Please come to the ACGS meetings and support our society so that this does not happen to us. Vivian Cates, 2007 President Angelina County Genealogical Society
