On Saturday, June 7, volunteers will once again work on a clean up of two of the oldest cemeteries in Hudson County, the Old Bergen Cemetery and the Speer Cemetery. Volunteers are meeting at the Old Bergen Cemetery on Bergen Avenue at 9:00 A.M. If possible, please come to help with this work. I'm happy to announce that the City of Jersey City is shortly voting on a $25,000 appropriation to install a new historically accurate fence for Speer and the Hudson County Open Space and Historic Trust Fund as made a recommendation for an additional $25,000 grant for further restoration work at Speer.
