The German Genealogy Group will hold its next monthly meeting on Thursday, February 7th at: Hicksville VFW Hall—Post 3211 320 South Broadway (Route 107) Hicksville, New York 11801 The meeting this month will feature "Surrogate's Court Files" with presenter Stephen B. Nathan, Esq. Mr. Nathan will show us all how the use of Surrogate's Court files (Wills, petitions, etc.) and their pitfalls will aid your genealogy research. Some other court and official records will also be discussed. GGG member Stephen B. Nathan, Esq. (Steve) is a New York practicing attorney whose field of specialization is wills and estates. His acquired expertise in genealogy research and his legal specialty is a natural combination. He grew up in the predominantly German neighborhood of Ridgewood, Queens. He is however a third generation born American. An Orientation session for beginners and newcomers will be held at 7 PM and the regular meeting will start at 7:30. GGG members and guests will have access to the building beginning at 6:30 PM.
