    3. Don't Miss the Genealogy Roadshow Presented by Lone Star Chapter, APG at the Texas State GS Annual Conference 9-10 November 2007 in Tyler, Texas The Lone Star Chapter of APG is conducting a Genealogy Roadshow at the Texas State Genealogical Society (TSGS) Annual Conference on November 9th and 10th. We are offering free 15-minute consultations during breaks to provide ideas to solve one genealogical problem for conference attendees. To participate in the Genealogy Roadshow please print this linked registration form <http://lonestarapg.com/roadshow_form.pdf>, complete it, and bring it to the conference along with any pertinent documentation. At the conference visit the Lone Star Chapter APG booth to be assigned a consultation time slot. At the time assigned an experienced genealogist will discuss your problem and offer research suggestions that may help further your research. Due to the time limitations it is necessary to focus on a very specific research question. For example: * There were four men with the same name in the same place at the same time. How can I determine which was my ancestor? * I need help determining my great-grandmother's maiden name. The documents I already have are [provide a brief list of sources here with details provided on the document]. * My ancestor served in the Civil War. I have his pension file. What other records might be available to add to his story in this time-frame? * I can trace this family in every census but one. What techniques might I use to find them? Questions are not limited to these topics. These are just examples to show how you might focus on a very specific question. Lone Star Chapter APG members will be available to assist as needed in focusing your question.

The speaker for this October 14 meeting will be Carolyn Casperson who will share her experiences in Norway as she successfully connected with relatives she was able to trace down through the on-line phone book, computer groups, and persistence coupled with serendipity. Of the 107 countries she has visited, this one was really special--and not just because of her ancestral roots. The IGS Library at 1310 West Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank is open from noon until 5pm each Sunday. Our meeting will start at 2 pm and, as usual, will be followed by refreshments with time for research and consultation.
