    1. Copy Costs Have Increased
    2. Janet Reinhold
    3. I was so late in getting the July issue out--last week! I had always used Staples, an office "super" store in my Los Angeles area. It's been $0.02 per side, and I usually get about 125 sets of 38 pp run off. I buy card stock for front & back covers. This comes out to an issue which weighs 4 oz. and costs $1.01 in postage to send via First Class Mail. My subscription price is $12 per year, 4 issues, with index; and $10 without index. My costs for copying and postage were running therefore $206 (card stock is about $10 for 250 sheets). They collate, I staple & do labels etc. BUT! this last time I went into the store they had informed me the costs had been increased as of August 1. The costs didn't just increase, however, they DOUBLED. Now they want $0.04 per side in quantities of 125 like I usually get. I can't double my subscription cost! Many of my subscribers are on fixed incomes. And many don't have computers. Now I need to shop around and find some place which will do it as cheaply. Does anyone know why Staples increased their prices so much? I guess I just wanted to complain!
