If you are researching relatives in the UK, we would like to invite you to join us on the IIGS IRC. We will be meeting every Tuesday from 20:00 GMT on channel #IIGS-UKgen. This meeting is intended as a get together for people researching UK ancestors, both from in the UK and from outside the UK. The intention is to have more regular communication between people.. e.g. If you are having a discussion on the UK and Ireland newsgroup then bring it with you and have an interactive discussion about it. Bring your surnames and see if anyone else is researching in your area. Bring your books with you and see if you can help others. We are hoping that this meeting will become a regular place for people to meet and discuss UK genealogy. If you want to use our server for your own genealogy meetings.. just do it !! e.g. County meetings, One name study meetings, or just having an interactive chat with someone you have been talking to on the Newsgroups or via e-mail.
