    3. You may need outside help to perform this if you are not accustomed to editing the Registry, but this should fix the problem for you: Go to Start>Run and type regedit in the box labelled Run. Then click on File>Export. This action will ask you to name the export file and save it in My Documents (name it with the date is an apt name). This is now a backup of your Registry in case anything goes wrong. Click on the plus (+) sign in front of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT Scroll way down the list that shows until you find afolder named: Folder Again, click on the "+" sign to open that folder (named Folder) Click on the "+" sign in front of the folder named Shell Click on the "+" sign in front of the folder named Open Click on the folder named Command Over in the right hand panel you will now see (Default) Double click on (default) and delete the entry showing in "Value Data" (it will be highlighted in blue) Cut and paste the line below into the "Value Data" box %SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /idlist,%I,%L Click Ok at the bottom of the screen and exit Regedit. Reboot your computer and your folders should now open whan clicked upon. > -----Original Message----- > From: greenways6@aol.com > Sent: Tue, 12 Aug 2008 06:08:22 EDT > To: gen-comp-tips@rootsweb.com > Subject: [GEN-COMP-TIPS] Opening Folders > > Thanks for the advice, Dora, but this does not cover what I want to put > right.
