    3. Hi Donna It does not remove them unless asked to do so, it puts them into a folder called "Unused Desktop Shortcuts" (oddly enough :-) If you locate the folder and simply replace the shortcut But I do not think the OP is talking of a desk top icon John when you say in the start up menu, where exactly do you mean? When does it appear and where (or should I say where did it) Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) > Windows has a feature that cleans up (removes) icons / short cuts rarely > used. 3. Sorry Nivard my knowledge of PCs is lacking. I mean desktop where you start after booting up. I am now set up for the Unused Desktop Shortcuts. ----- Original Message ----- > John when you say in the start up menu, where exactly do you mean? > When does it appear and where (or should I say where did it) > Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) I love Cornwall have taken my family there several times in the 50s. Certainly a lot different than here in California. My better half for over 52 years is English. She went bouncers over scones with strawberries and clotted cream. I think she gained about 10 pounds while we were there. (:=)) John
