I have had some super help from Art & Lance.........and managed to remove the Keenval Trojan, which was stopping me from restoring back my computer to an earlier time, as well as hijacking some of my taskbar icons. BUT I still have a problem with the hija of my icons, whatever I do the icons I click revery back to the printer..........not sure why that should be. I have in practice repaired the Registry, using a Windows XP Registry cleaner...........BUT still cannot click on URL's in my e-mails.................this send me to explorer but leaves the address line blank....................I therefore still have to cut and paste in order to access an URL............................. Hi Jan! Because of the mess the Trojan made of your IE settings, the file association for URL's has been broken or is missing. This site has two methods of fixing that particular problem: http://www.psknet.com/support/FAQ/oeurlnoclick.htm As for your Desktop icons, again the association has been broken. What you will need to do with each of those is right click, and edit the PROPERTIES so that the path is changed back to the original application for each one. Alternatively, you could delete all the shortcuts which are incorrect and recreate them again from the original application. One lesson to be learned I guess, from this exercise with Avant is for all readers of this list to be wary of installing applications which want to work with your major applications. Always check with Google to see if any such program has had negative reports. If it has, think twice about installing it, no matter how glowing some reports may be.
