If you have followed the steps to "move" your Store Folder, Maureen that would be a normal message (restart). Did you take note of the actual steps you chose? You will need to record those to know where your Store Folder's new location will be. Did you backup your data BEFORE starting those steps? If in doubt, about your actions, do a System Restore NOW, back to a date before you started moving the folder today. That should allay your fears. I just went to the site you provided, copied the directions re "store folder" and before I could decide if I wanted to do this, a dialog box came up and said that changes would take effect when I shut off and restarted my computer. Now I'm afraid to shut off my computer in case ALL my emails move. How can I either get back to my old default store method or transfer only the emails I want put in the new store?? All you need to do is maintain good "housekeeping" with your OE files and don't accumulate more messages than your drive can handle. Again, there is good advice on INSIDEOE about compacting your OE folders, and in particular good advice about NOT using the auto compact feature: http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/maintain.htm#auto Lance -----Original Message----- From: Phil Stevens [mailto:joe2phil@drizzle.com] Sent: Thursday, 12 August 2004 12:36 To: Gen. I know it's a "normal" message for the change. I want to UNDO the change if possible, or if not possible then after it's done go back to my default. The steps I used were: Tools, Options,Maintenance, Store Folder, and Change. When the box came up showing the "Change Browse", my cursor was accidentally resting on a file I didn't recognize, so I highlighted it to see what it was. Then the restart box came up. Lesson learned: don't be too curious when doing new things on PC. By System Restore, do you mean with my disk?? As you can see, I rarely have problems; that's why I don't know what you mean. Maybe the reason for my problem free PC for the past 6 yrs is no experimentation :):):).
