    3. Hi All, At this time, there have been 481 messages posted to the GEN-COMP-TIPS list - which is about 150 more messages than the previous month with the "most posts" according to the archives. With that much traffic on the list, it is important that we remember a few things: 1) Stay on topic. I don't want to get into a debate about what"on topic" is. Generally speaking, if it is computer related and can be interpreted to be used for genealogy purposes it is on topic. 2) Ensure the subject line of your message is topical. With so many messages coming through, it's important to grab your readership's attention. I'm sure you'll agree a subject line such as Re: [Gen-Comp-Tips] Re: GEN-COMP-TIPS-D Digest V04 #259 is completely useless. 3) Only quote as much of the message you are replying to so as to remind your readership about what you are referring to. There's no need to quote an entire message or, even worse, an entire DIGEST. 4) If at all possible, if you are thanking someone for their assistance please send the thanks privately to their e-mail address. It is important to thank the people who assist us but not necessary to send to the entire list. As of this morning there are 249 subscribers to the list and 181 subscribers to the digest. Regards, Ken Quinn, List Admin
