    3. I have a lot of data on my pc, accumulated over years (in excel) that I would like to make more searchable. Could I use a tool like a webpage database to but write it to disc and be searchable? I've used discs from the LDS for example and always wondered if I could make one. Joy

If you are talking about other types of data, then yes you could make a database as you wrote about. You could also just copy the Excel spreadsheets to a disk and search them with Excel. There are also several other types of programs that you could import the data into and make them fully searchable (can only think of one right now, AskSam). If you do a search on the web, you'll find lots of ways you could accomplish what you want. Art

I find excel cumbersome and slow so I'd prefer not to use it. I've tried writing access program with a little success but even this is not really what I want. I'd like a fully indexable search engine I guess. Joy
