    2. Hi Ken > In my opinion screensavers are superfluous. I broadly agree with that sentiment. And two other points :- 1. a regular issue on this list is one of system resources, memory etc. It is my understanding that having a screensaver enabled does, in itself, use up some of those valuable resources of a PC. 2. on some modern PCs, a screensaver is a no-no, as they are not compatible with "sleep" or "power-down" settings. My PC hibernates after a short period of inactivity, and springs back into life when it is touched. A screensaver would upset this routine. The original reason for screensavers was to prevent very old screens getting a still image burned into them. That isn't really an issue now, and screensavers have become something of a toy or a visually appealing add-on. It's fine to use them if you like that sort of thing, but as I've indicated, there is a small price to pay. Best wishes.
