>on what research do you base that statement: "lots of people are switching"? Well I certainly am not a research expert but I do also monitor the Legacy list and there are messages on a regular bases saying the individual is new to Legacy having just switched from ----, a high number from FTM. The Legacy list has grown tremendously in the 6 - 7 years I have been on it. Walt Conner
A question/statement about what was said. The Legacy >list has grown tremendously in the 6 - 7 years I have been on it. A growing user list could be both a good and bad indication. The good would be that it could/would seem to indicate more people were using the program. The bad could mean that more errors are being discovered, or more people need help understanding how to use it. As for the increase in people saying that they are making the switch from FTM, does this mean that they are "growing up" in their genealogy research and need a more robust program? For what reason are they making the change? I do believe that genealogy as a whole has grown in the time period mentioned. Therefore, the usage of all programs has increased. Just my thoughts. Art

To refresh: > As for the increase in people saying that they are making the switch from > FTM, "lots of people are switching" This was just my casual observation to a question I have even forgotten, not intended to raise anyone's hackles. Legacy does have the best customer support of ANY program that I have ever had experience with. The others had problems but forget a free update or personal attention. Walt Conner
That's good to hear, Walt, and confirms my thoughts too, on this excellent program. I have, or have used, most of programs available in recent years and Legacy is my choice, too.
