Not sure if this is the proper forum but wonder if there are opinions? Have been seeing discussion on the benefit of having two monitors in operation at the same time. Could have my Genealogy program, Legacy, open on one and Ancestry on the other and not have to move back and forth all the time. It seems like a good idea but could be costly. Any thoughts, downsides? Thanks Bill Houdek bhoudek@swbell.net
Yes, Bill, it is possible to use two monitors. Expensive? Well, yes it can be. You need another monitor of course, but you will also need a second graphics card installed in your computer. They range from moderate to expensive in pricing. Do a search on www.google.com using the phrase "using two monitors" and you will find just under a 1,000 references, many full of good advice and tips. If I am transcribing or copying stuff from one program to another I open both and flick between them with ALT-TAB. Delete or minimise any other screen that intervenes. Try that right now! Very handy.
