Your question is really difficult to answer. There really is no "ideal size". Generally, you would want a photo to be less than a MB in size. Different formats of a graphic file (which a photo is) would cause the file to be different sizes. So it would depend on the format used. The second part of your question is a little easier to answer. If it is to small, then the recipient must use a graphic program to zoom in on the picture to be able to see it. As a photo is enlarged, distortion is easier to see and the picture starts to show blocks. Hope this helps. G'Day Charles. This would all depend of whether you wish the recipient to print it or just look at it? e.g. your screen can only see 75p per inch so if it was the latter a photo 6"x4"x75p would be sufficient, however if you wish them to print it, a good size would be 5"x3.5"x300p.
