Two ways to do this Patricia: One, by clicking on the Control Panel | System | Properties, then clicking Turn Off Automatic Updates. Two, by clicking Control Panel | System | Administrative Tools | Services, then selecting Automatic Updates. In Automatic Updates, under Startup Type, right click Automatic, select Properties from the context menu and change the setting (in Startup Type) to Manual. Click OK. This is the more reliable way, incidentally. Unfortunately, I don't still have the original message. Thanks. I see in Yahoo just now that Microsoft has delayed the release of the service pack. I could not get into the actual message, however.
