Hello Paul, Re my query below, I did reply to you, but on searching my 'sent' box I can't see it listed at all, so can only assume that my reply was lost in space somewhere. To answer your question, I'm running Windows XP And in answer to your second question - yes, for my pains, I'm still Editor of Western Ancestor - in my 17th year. I will appreciate any help you can give me re this problem, but I am now seriously considering a new computer, and a new system - an Imac. Regards, Malcolm Parr. >------------------------------ > >Message: 2 >Date: Tue, 15 Apr 2008 12:47:17 EDT >From: PaulGask@aol.com >Subject: Re: [GEN-COMP-TIPS] CHKDSK PROBLEM >To: GEN-COMP-TIPS@rootsweb.com >Message-ID: <c2a.234c48e8.35363615@aol.com> >Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" > > >In a message dated 15/04/2008 15:51:59 GMT Standard Time, >parrsbay@iinet.net.au writes: > >I keep getting a pop-up message on my screen that says that a file is faulty >or corrupted, and tells me to run something called CHKDSK.
