Not everyone has to be online to read his already-downloaded e-mails. Folks using e-mail clients set up to access their e-mail server using POP3/SMTP can look at all of their e-mail any old time. I've been using Eudora since 1993, and I have, well, I'm not sure I'm gonna admit in public just how many e-mails I have in some of my mailboxes... Regardless how much e-mail you keep in your e-mail program, or in text documents, or what-have-you, you're gonna be sorry some day if you don't back it up. Often.
