    1. [GEN-COMP-TIPS] MS updates for XP

    3. Hi all, I have my MS updates set to 'notify me' when they are available so I can choose if/when to download & install them. I seem to receive daily a list of MS updates which I install to suit me. However, the next day the list appears to be the same - and the next day etc. My computer asks at shutdown to install the updates & turn itself off. So what's going wrong - are they not installing properly or what else causes the same kb updates to appear all the time. Frustrating. Ray

    3. I have two levels of updates. The first comes in about once a month which I do not download. Others come in automatically. I do not appreciate the changes because they adjust settings on my pc. The most obvious is they change my email setting from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook, which I do not like. I think it is an invasion of privacy for them to be able to and to actually change settings.
