My thanks to everyone who advised me on this problem - regretably not one of the suggested solutions works in my situation. I suppose I will just have to:- Open each .wps file with MS Works Select All Copy Open new Word Pad file (.rtf) Paste Save, name and close RTF file Close .wps file SIGH! There's a lot of them. Bob
