My son says he can't format a HDD with Free BSD on it but I'm thinking that if he put a boot disk in the Floppy or USB & set it up to boot from that, in the bios, he should be able to format the HDD & install Windows on it; am I right in this assumption?     3. He'll probably have to delete any of the BSD *partitions* that he wants to use, then create new partitions for Windows. You could use the Windows "fdisk" utility for that. Or, it may be easier to just wipe the drive completely clean before installing Windows. The disk manufacturer would have a downloadable utility, or use DBAN (dban.sourceforge.net).
