Hi, Guess I wasn't clear with my original questions. INRE new External Hard Drive I purchased it, primarily, to use as a back-up for my data. However, Should I load my operating system (Windows 98 SE) onto the new drive? Should I load application software, genealogy, Word, Excel, etc. onto the new drive? Thanks --- Gary <[email protected]> wrote: > Becky Pleiman wrote: > > Early this evening, I purchased a new External > Hard > > Drive (Western Digital-My Book), 160GBs, installed > the > > drivers (I am a Windows 98 SE user) > I don't know about Windows 98SE for sure, but you > shouldn't have any > problems. No. External drives are fine for storage, but the USB interface is way too slow for applications or operating systems.
