They are mainly caused by conflicts between programs/drivers and the Microsoft operating system. Microsoft would probably argue that you take a risk whenever you use a program/driver that has not been certified as being compatible. The suppliers of said programs/drivers may argue that it costs too much to gain such certification and that the risk to user (you and I) is acceptable. Personally, the more I pay for software, the more I require such certification. If I use such as freeware - I take my chances. Chris
