The version of Works word that I had installed on my old laptop was not the same product as the Word in Microsoft Office which is the standard Microsoft Word. They are two different products. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of bob gillis Sent: Friday, November 03, 2006 3:09 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [GEN-COMP-TIPS] Word 2003 versus Microsoft Works Nivard Ovington wrote: >Hi Judy > >Very early versions of Works had an inferior word processor but for several >years now it contains a standard version of Word, usually these Works suites >given away are a couple of years old but still similar to the later >versions. > The MS Works loaded on an HP laptop or ant other computer such as DELL or Gateway would be the complete and latest version of Works. HP pays MS a license fee to load it on their computers. it is not given away. bob gillis -------------------------------------- Having trouble with your subscription? Hi Paul How old was your Works Word? As I said before the older version of Works had an inferior word processor, then some time ago (I do not know exactly when) they added Word the standard version, depending on the version of Works (in this present thread its Works 8 that has Word 2002), which as Bob has said is pretty much the same as 2003, the later version has a few more bells and whistles. If you go to Microsoft's web site it tells you what is included in Works.
