There are a number of ways you can print out a list of files on a hard drive which will allow you to compare the contents with those on your other computer. One that I use regularly is called DirPrinting. [END QUOTE] My main use of that program is to create indexes of CD's to "paste" into MS Excel which it does admirably. I simply create an index, copy it to the clipboard, then open Excel and paste it into a workbook - very quick, very neat, and efficient. Another option is a free utility from Karen Kenworthy (formerly of the now defunct Windows magazine). After receiving several helpful replies to my question, I thought I would start at the top of the freebies list and work down, so I downloaded this one > One that I use regularly is called DirPrinting. I tried the "Help" button" and a message appeared "Will follow soon" Seems as though the 'Help" pages haven't been uploaded yet??? So I cannot see whether what I am trying to do will work. I need to print out firstly all the 75 sub-directories and then possibly the files each one contains. Don't feel like typing out all the names of the 75 sub-directories........! Should I move on to one of the other recommended downloads or am I asking too much from freebies? genlistlass, UK

I use a program known as "PrintFolder'" I think it will do the job you want done. Idon't have a URL but use GOOGLE to find it. If memory serves me correct it is either free or Shareware. I use Print Folder it prints out my sub directories and folders, not sure if this is what you want but you can look at it. Have no address for it but you can find it on Goggles...
