In the past few days when I File - Open - My documents the list of folders is in descending order and the list of files is also in descending order x**** first and 1800*** last. I have not done anything that I know to cause this reversal of order. I cannot find anything in the tool bar of help about changing the sort order. How can I set the sort back to ascending? bob gillis
Bob, Right click in My Documents on an open space. You will see 'Arrange Icons By'. You'll be able to sort them in several different ways from there. Click on the right icon in the list toolbar to show or choose details, grab the corner of the window with the mouse pointer and drag it to enlarg the window. Do the same with the heading boundries until you can see the 'date modified' column, click on that heading to order them in reverse. Click on any heading to sort by that column, click again to reverse the sort of that column. Bob, you can quickly change the order of sorting by clicking in the column headings - NAME, SIZE, TYPE, DATE MODIFIED. The sorting is indicated by a small arrowhead in whichever column the main sorting is being done on. If it is pointing up in the NAME column, the sorting will be in A-Z fashion with numbered folders first depending on any you have. If is pointing down, the sorting is reversed. Any of the other columns can be used for sorting in this fashion too. You can quickly change this sorting order at any time to suit your needs.
