The general advise I've heard is that it is not good to have two firewalls going at the same time. I'd turn off the Windows firewall, if it has been turned on. Seems the Windows default is disabled, but the SP2 patch turns it on. When the Ancestry census pages come up, Norton should be asking you if you want it blocked or always allow. I think. I just finished removing Norton AntiVirsus 2002 and downloading and installing Norton AntiVirsus 2005. The recommendation with Norton AntiVirsus 2005 is that Windows Firewall be removed and Norton protection be used instead. My questions---Is that what someone with knowledge in this area would agree with and if that is done will the likelihood of being able to use census images from Ancestry.com be increased? Thank you.
Woody, The Windows firewall is something new with SP2. The default is on. I agree that it is not good to have two firewalls' running at the same time as they can and will conflict with each other.
