    1. Excel File inaccessible
    2. Marie Peer
    3. Good Morning, I have a stubborn Excel file stored on a floppy disk. It did open and work but now I get a message that says I can no longer access it. I am able to access another file on the same floppy though. The exact message I get when trying to open the file says: "(file) cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or the server the document is stored on may not be responding." Also, the floppy continues to cycle on and off as long as I leave it in the computer. It never did that before. And like I said, there is another file on this floppy that I am able to access. I did not make the inaccessible file a read-only file. I'm trying to do this on a laptop that has Windows 98 for its operating system. I have a hard copy of these extracted census records but is there any hope I can open that file again or is it lost forever and ever? Thank you for your help!
