Can anyone throw any light on the problem I am having with my A floppy drive please? It seems to work O.K. when I use a floppy at the MS DOS prompt mode, but it isn't recognised when I use it in Windows (98SE). The "egg timer" comes up but just hangs there and eventually I get the message "there is no disk in drive A". I have removed the drive from the Manager in Control Panel and re-installed it to no avail. Any assistance would be appreciated. Many thanks, Jan.
I would use DOS to XCopy the contents of the floppy to a folder on the C: drive and go from there.. For help on xcopy: at the DOS prompt type "xcopy /?" without the quotation marks. It scrolls too fast for me to read the top ones, so you may need a DOS book. Or, you could just copy the files one or two at a time, using the DOS copy command. Still, "copy /?" gives you help on copy Alfred D. Eller RootsMagic-Users-Admin@RootsWeb.com ================ ============== ----- Original Message ----- From: "J.
