I am having problems over very simple things now that I have XP. Most of my genealogy programmes are good old DOS. I have found out how to make a startup sisc, but it gets me into A:\ and cannot find any other drive - let alone C:\ The in-computer imformation needs you to type in the key word. It was Startup rather than MSDOS or DOS. I cannot find a clear desktop icon. I tries looking under both desktop and clear Oh! for Windows 95, 98 or even good old DOS! John Dowding|

Are you trying to boot into DOS? What keyword are you talking about? What do you mean by a clear desktop icon? Keep in mind that DOS and Windows XP are two completely different operating systems. Win95 and Win98 were based on DOS, XP is not. While most DOS programs will work under XP, there are some that will not. I need more information as to what exactly you are trying to do in order for me to help you. Art
