LCD screens are designed for one resolution, they can do other resolutions but with some interpolation. That is, they can display the high resolution because there are that many 'bulbs' on the screen, the lower resolutions have to light two bulbs for some of the pixels, so that the about every fourth pixel up and down would have to have two bulbs lit and about one of every five across would have to be two bulbs. I suppose that they are arranged so that the multiple 'bulb' pixels don't line up to cause every fourth or fifth line to be wider. With LCD, more than CRT, the native resolution will probably be the clearest, If you like the lower resolution, you can suit yourself. You may find a way to shut off the reminder by right clicking on a vacant spot on your desktop and select Properties, browse around. (I think most video boards have a bit different menu there.) You can maybe change the font size so that it is easier to read in that same area. ---Properties -- Settings -- Advanced -- General -- DPI settings (With this ATI board.) Alfred D.
