Hi listers, I'm still using a dial-up modem - 56 whatevers. Operating system is XP. Tried to copy a music CD recently which involved automatically downloading information about it. The program I was using - either Real Player or Windows Media Player - I know I tried with both and I've forgotten which one did the damage - told me I'd have a better result if I switched to 28 whatevers. So I clicked the box. Now my download speed is very slow for everything and I can't find how to change it back. I may be in front of myself here as I'm assuming this is the cause of my real problem. I can't connect Thunderbird to my ISP. Well it connects, but it times out before it downloads even one message. I've spoken to the ISP and have all the settings correct, but they have advised to get the modem speed sorted out. Do hope someone can help.
