    3. That's what programs like Ghost or Acronis, or even disk manufacturers' utilities like Seagate's DiskWizard, are supposed to do. The instructions say that you can "partition and copy data to external drives...". I know these programs do work for desktop computers where two drives can be installed at the same time. But I haven't (yet) seen anyone state unequivocably that the process works with laptops, with one internal and one external drive. If anyone has done this using Ghost, Acronis, or preferably some free software, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
