Thanks to "n.east" but I couldn't uninstall the Yahoo Toolbar by either of your suggestions. Why do they lose goodwill and irritate customers by making it so difficult to uninstall? Any other ideas gratefully received. Also I can't find a way of emailing CCleaner and it's not in FAQ--- but you can send them money through PayPal of course. It may remove the toolbar. It is a pity CCleaner includes that as a default install rather than making it an option. Once you have uninstalled CCleaner and hopefully, Yahoo toolbar, too, reinstall CCleaner and make sure the Yahoo toolbar is unselected. > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [email protected] > > Sent: Sat, 21 Oct 2006 23:20:03 +0200 > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: [GEN-COMP-TIPS] CCleaner and Yahoo > > > > I just downloaded the latest version of CCleaner, and they have installed > > the Yahoo Tool Bar. Hello John Did you reboot after trying to remove the toolbar? Did you find Yahoo Toolbar in the Add/Remove on Windows? If so try once again to remove it. It shows in Add/Remove on my comp. If that doesn't work then go to Start-all programs and see if Yahoo Toolbar is listed there. If so, look for the uninstaller. If it has one it should show. John, I use Internet Explorer and if I click on View, it shows the toolbars that are in use. Just click on the one you don't want, and it will remove the checkmark. That toolbar will disappear. With these instructions, the toolbar will be no longer visible, but it will still be installed. This user wants to uninstall it.
