Thank you so much Gary. I have run my virus protection & scanned almost every day. It sounds like a scam to get people to buy another. Thank you again for the peace of mind Judy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 22, 2006 9:00 AM Subject: Re: [GEN-COMP-TIPS] software counterfeiting > At 10:42 PM 22/10/2006, you wrote: >>REALLY appreciate any advice for my peace of mind. > > If you have a virus protection program update it & run it to > eliminate that possibility, which I must admit I don't think it is. > After that click on the balloon & I think it will take you to > Microsoft telling you that you have an illegitimate version of > Windows installed. If it is this it is up to you whether you ignore > this, which won't harm your computer, or pay for a illegitimate > version via the net. > > > Gary in Sunny Queensland, Australia. > www.sunzine.net/rockhampton > Genealogy Page http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~liddellfamily/ > > > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > Version: 7.1.408 / Virus Database: 268.13.9/490 - Release Date: 20/10/2006 > -------------------------------------- > Having trouble with your subscription? It came in an automatic download from Microsoft. If your op. sys. is a pirate copy it will tell you and continually notify you that "you may be the victim of counterfeiting" This will continue until some day your (copy) operating system just will not open. It is another way of forcing people to buy the real thing Talk to you soon, Bill ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judy Berndt" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 22, 2006 5:34 PM Subject: Re: [GEN-COMP-TIPS] software counterfeiting > Thank you so much Gary.
