    1. [GEN-COMP-TIPS] Extra Connection Box To AT&T
    2. Jane Gillespie
    3. I have an extra connection "box" that comes up on my computer. I have OE6, IE7 & XP .. I usually connect by going to "start" then "connect to" and it has an ATT and show all connections listed and I click ATT. When I had some internet problems recently the rep got me to do a shortcut from the above to put on the desktop. Also usually at startup I have another smaller connection box that comes up that I think says "connecting ATT" or something like that.. would this un-needed & troublesome file be under start menu. I can't find it. But there seems to be several places start up stuff is listed under XP. Any help appreciated. If I am unclear PLEASE ask for more information. It is hard to write out this stuff sometimes :). Thanks!! Jane McCombs Gillespie gillespie4491@bellsouth.net Researching McComb/McCombs Gillespie (various) in SC & beyond

    2. Do you mean the symbol on the keys are reversed? Or does the pushing the key give the wrong symbol on the screen? If the keys are reversed--most keyboards have keys that pull off/pop off. You might try pulling and changing their positions. Or take it back where you purchased it. 1. [GEN-COMP-TIPS] Workaround to Open Bookmarks in New Tab in Firefox
    2. n.east
    3. "When opening a bookmark in Firefox, the bookmarked web page will open on the active tab by default. The behavior can potentially cause a user to accidentally lose the web page he or she is browsing or close the tab with unsaved work to load the new website. Since Firefox supports tabbed browsing, it would be great if the bookmarked links can be opened and launched in a new tab instead". 3. That is rather odd for a new keyboard. Have you considered taking it back to exchange it for another one? 3. I am sorry John.. I didn't explain it very well at all :( In the Address Book part of OE6 I need to add a name and email address to a list of other names and addresses. Under the "shared contacts" tab I have several "lists". The list contain many names & emails listed under a name. So when you choose the name of the list then a message is sent to all who are on the list. I need to add a name to one of these lists & I cannot figure out how to do it.. sorry to have not been clearer.. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Contratto" <1461edenway2@comcast.net> To: <gen-comp-tips@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2008 2:03 PM Subject: Re: [GEN-COMP-TIPS] OE 6 Add Name to Shared Contacts > Hi Jane > > I may be way off base. 3. Jane If this does not work I will be surprised To add a contact to an existing group 1.. In the Address Book list, double-click the group you want. The group's Properties dialog box opens. 2.. You can add people to the group in several ways -and in some cases you can add them to your Address Book as well. a.. To add a person from your Address Book list, click Select Members, and then click a name from the Address Book list. Click Select, and then click OK. b.. To use a directory service (use the drop-down list at the end of the text box to see directories you have added to Outlook Express), click Select Members, and then click Find. Select a directory service to search, enter your search criteria, and when you find the person, click Select, and then click OK. This person's name and e-mail address is added to your Address Book. c.. To add a person directly to the group without adding the name to your Address Book, type the person's name and e-mail address in the boxes provided in the lower half of the dialog box, and then click Add. d.. To add a person to both the group and your Address Book, click New Contact, fill in the appropriate information, and click OK. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jane Gillespie" <gillespie4491@bellsouth.net> To: <gen-comp-tips@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2008 6:18 PM Subject: Re: [GEN-COMP-TIPS] OE 6 Add Name to Shared Contacts >I am sorry John.. 3. Hi Jane I may be way off base. Here are several suggestions. I may have misunderstood your request. John To set up a conference call from the Address Book If you use Microsoft NetMeeting or other conferencing software, you can store conferencing account information (such as e-mail and server addresses) along with other contact information and then make a conferencing call directly from the Address Book. 1.. In the Address Book, double-click the contact name. 2.. On the NetMeeting tab, type the Conferencing Server address. (If NetMeeting is not installed, this tab is named Conferencing). 3.. Type the Conferencing Address for the contact. This address must be the one used for conferencing, which could be different from the contact's e-mail address. 4.. Click Add to add this information to the contact's properties. Now, whenever you want to initiate a conference call, you can click Call Now on the NetMeeting (or Conferencing) tab of the contact's properties. Note a.. You can have multiple e-mail addresses and directory servers listed for one contact. 3. I had this problem with tiscali a few days ago. My ISP here in Australia said they (tiscali) were blocking two of iinet's servers (ihug is part of the iinet family) for no apparent reason. The advice was to send the email again as it was unlikely to be sent from one of the blocked servers the next time, and sure enough it went through. 3. Hi all I had problems with Tiscali emails about 3 weeks ago. All tiscali emails were being bounced back to me with the same message. Someone kindly explained that it was tiscali themselves who were blocking blueyonder emails. As I'm not a member of tiscali my only option was to email them through one of their contact us options. Whether it was the right contact us option one or not I have no idea but it did the trick.
