I have tried several times over the last year to install and use the above free program and always get this error message. Run-time error '400' , form already displayed; cant show modally, after pressing the ok link the program closes. I have downloaded the program from the Legacy website and have also installed the program from several different Free Family History CD's all with the same results. Can anybody help please.
Why change when all is going well, personally I have run windows ME now for over three years. & todate (touch wood) have had a good run for my money. yes no problems what so ever. upgrading is fine if you have the brass? but most people I know that are involved in family history, and are on pensions & just can't afford to upgrade. Personally I am hoping for Linux to make the grade, this is partially free, & what I have been told very stable. Whould love to here more about this system. As an example, I am subscribed to Ancestry.com. When I am ready to "back-out" of the Program. Do you do the following? 1. Hit the "back arrow" in the left corner, and continue to back out and return to your home page. OR 2. Just hit the "Home Page" button at the top of your screen, i.e.: MSN, etc. Sometime I am so far into searching, it takes me quiet a while to back out and go back to my home page. Thanks, Janet

Heather, I'm not sure I understand where your problem occurred. Was Error 32 a Windows error or a TMG error? Had you backed up successfully to the two floppies? If so, had you then transferred the backup file successfully to your new hard drive? If the problem occurred before that, then it wasn't a TMG problem. If you had the backup on the new hard drive and then tried to import into TMG, then you'd do well to subscribe to the TMG mailing list with your problem, or access the new forum recently announced by Wholly Genes at http://www.whollygenes.com/forums.htm Fran ----- Original Message ----- From: "dolphin213" <dolphin213@cox.net> To: <GEN-COMP-TIPS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 2:42 PM Subject: Re: [Gen-Comp-Tips] (Gen-Comp-Tips) What is error 32 > > Heather, > > >Hi, I am back again like a bad penny with > > > >Unknown Error 32 > > > >I backed up the UFT project from my laptop running '98 to two floppies to > >transfer to TMG running on XP and all seemed well until I put in the > >second disc when the error message appeared. Hi Martin, If you haven't seen it the August Family Tree Magazine is giving away a disc with Complete Reading 1891 census, Hampshire Parish Records Volumn 1 and RootsMagic V2 Demo. I have been familiarising myself with RootsMagic and am impressed. I think it will be my choice rather than TMG. as you don't need a degree to navigate. The quickest way to find it (or anything like that) is to use www.google.com Marilyn. If you typed in "open office" it would quickly show 387,000 sites referring to Open Office, with first reference being for: http://www.openoffice.org/ That is the main place to find it.
